Sauk Valley Community College student Nilima Prashaad of Princeton is recipient of the Broderick/Harrison Memorial Scholarship for 2010-11. This $500 scholarship is awarded through the Sauk Valley College Foundation.
Prashaad is a radiologic technology major who carries a 3.62 GPA. She plans to graduate from Sauk with an Associate in Applied Science in May 2011 and transfer to a four-year institution to earn a Bachelor of Science in Sonographics. Prashaad, would like to pursue a career in the radiology field, is the mother of three children.
The Broderick/Harrison Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a non-traditional female student who is in her second year at Sauk and has achieved academic excellence. This scholarship is one of 80 private donors that provide scholarships to deserving Sauk students each year. These scholarships play a crucial role in helping these students pursue their educational goals.
The Sauk Foundation is a non-profit corporation that helps to broaden the educational opportunities and services that SVCC provides for its students. Each year the Foundation distributes scholarships that total more than $160,000.
