Sauk Valley Community College’s women’s softball program will host a two-day Softball Camp for junior high and high school softball players on Saturday, October 30, and Sunday, October 31, at Sauk’s softball field. This camp will be for players of all levels of competition.
The camp will feature two sessions. The offensive skills session, which will include hitting and slapping, will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon each day. The defensive skills session, which will cover fielding, pitching and catching, will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. each day.
Sauk’s new Head Softball Coach Bob Lowe will lead the camp, assisted by members of the 2011 Skyhawks women’s softball team. Lowe, who brings more than 10 years of fast pitch softball experience to Sauk, is a former owner of the Thunder professional fast pitch team, Low has had a number of his American Softball Association (ASA) players go on to the college level including all three of his daughters.
Cost for the camp is $20 for one session, $30 for two sessions, and $40 for all four sessions. In case of rain, sessions will be held indoors.
