SVCC Student McCaw Awarded Kiwanis Club of Dixon Scholarship

Sauk Valley Community College student Ashley McCaw of Dixon has been awarded a Kiwanis Club of Dixon Scholarship for theAshley McCaw Photo 2010-11 academic year. This $1,000 scholarship is distributed by the Sauk Valley College Foundation.

A special education major, McCaw is a member of Sauk’s Association for Disability Awareness. She plans to graduate from Sauk in 2012 with an Associate in Arts and transfer to Northern Illinois University to major in special education. McCaw would like to continue her education by earning a master’s degree in special education and pursue a career teaching in a special education setting. She also plans to enlist in the Illinois National Guard in 2011. A 2010 graduate of Dixon High School, Ashley is the daughter of Gary and Dawn McCaw of Dixon.

The Sauk Valley College Foundation is a non-profit corporation that helps to broaden the educational opportunities and services that SVCC provides for its students. The Sauk Foundation distributes numerous scholarships for Sauk students that total more than $160,000 annually.
