New to Computers? Sauk to Offer ‘Basics of Computers’ on Feb. 2

If you are brand new to computers, Sauk Valley Community College will offer its popular one-session course, Basics of Computers, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, in Room 3K2.  

In this workshop, participants will discover the basics, which will include computer components, media that can be used, the keyboard, the mouse, and commonly-used computer terms. There will also be a brief overview of the operating system that will show participants basic Windows commands and shortcuts. Also covered will be how to troubleshoot simple computer problems, types of software available, and how software is installed or removed.

Cost of this class is $75. Participants may register in the Office of Admissions, Room 1J1, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays or between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.

For those unable to attend this February 2 session, a two-part evening Basics of Computers will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, February 21, and Wednesday, February 23, also in Room 3K2. Cost for this two-part class will be $85.
