Any student who must take English 099 and has not taken CSS 100 will find that the learning community program is something to take advantage of for the fall semester.
Sauk Valley’s learning community program offers benefits and incentives that create a supportive learning environment through free workshops, peer mentoring programs, and positive experiences. Students participating in the program will be matched with a peer mentor who will be able to assist in any learning needs and concerns throughout the semester such as college life or course options. Close relationships are made through mentors, instructors and peers that form a bond others will not have.
Students involved in the program will also be able to take advantage of the laptop lending program and several other incentives to increase learning strategies.
The learning community program offers resources and experiences that will make a difference. If interested in participating in the fall 2011 semester program, students are encouraged to meet with their advisor as the program is a first-come, first-serve basis.
