The Sauk Valley Community College Criminal Justice Club will host retired Special Investigator Hale Guyer on December 1 at 12:30 p.m. in Mathis Theater for a free presentation on scams and consumer fraud.
As the holidays are quickly approaching and gifts are on the brain, everyone needs to also be aware of scams and how to not be a victim this season. Guyer will cover ATM safety, credit card skimmers, advanced fee scams, International scams, loan scams, Phishing, keyloggers and WIFI malware to help increase awareness to make everyone’s holiday a happy one.
Guyer has an extensive background in dealing with scam artists and fraud with his work as a special investigator. He currently teaches at Surburban Law Enforcement Academy, has appeared on several television networks such as Court TV and WGN and received the Governor’s Award of Excellence for his work.
