Don't Miss SVCC Theatre's Production of Almost, Maine

Sauk Valley Community College’s Theater Department invites you to visit a little town to share in experiences of love and laughs with the production of Almost, Maine, at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 11, Saturday, November 12, Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19. There will also be two matinees at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13 and 20. All the performances will take place at SVCC’s Mathis Theater.

The Northern Lights can do strange things to people, especially the residents of Almost, Maine.  Almosts' townsfolk find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways on this particular night. Nine different stories will be told as knees are bruised; hearts are broken and mended; love is lost and found…almost.

Anna K. Kurtz, Sauk’s new theater director, is excited to see this production come together. She is proud of the talent and effort displayed by the actors and designers for this show. It is one that will make the audience feel love and humor all at the same time.

"This play depicts a variety of relationships: friendship, love, loss, and new beginnings,” said Kurtz. “There is something in this show for everyone; something each person can relate to."

Almost, Maine’s stories are performed by several gifted individuals including Peter Balser (Dixon), Aaraon Berogan (Dixon), Jorge Chirinos (Sterling), Monique Elmendorf (Dixon), Ryan Elmendorf (Dixon), Natalie Olds (Sterling), Kevin Tumelson (Dixon), Emily Thompson (Rock Falls) and Mona Weitz (Sterling). Almost, Maine will also have talented help backstage including Sarah Fassig assisting in directing, stage manager, Spencer Aurand, assistant stage manager Rachel Wirsing and Andrew Kida designing lights and scenes.
