New Officers Selected for 2012-13 Student Government Association

Sauk Valley Community College congratulates the new officers of the Student Government Association for 2012-13. They include:

President Ryan Downing- Ryan's area of study is industrial/organizational psychology. At Sauk, Ryan is involved in Student Support Services and Phi Theta Kappa. He is a Sauk Scholar and a member of the tennis team. Ryan also will play the part of Schroeder in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" at SVCC. His vision for SGA is to have more involvement from SGA members and have them actively involved on campus.

Vice President Valbona Bajrami-Valbona's area of study is pre-med. At Sauk, Valbona is involved in A.L.A.S., Health Career Club, Phi Theta Kappa, and Student Ambassadors. Her vision for SGA is to make a "greener" campus and get the student body more involved in decision making.

Treasurer Sarah Saenz- Sarah's area of study is elementary education. At Sauk, Sarah is involved in Phi Theta Kappa and has performed in concerts on the cello. Her vision for SGA is to make a solid impact on student life and see more unity of the student body.

Secretary/PR-Sara Zickert- Sara's area of study is elementary education. At Sauk, Sara is involved AmeriCorps, Association of Disability Awareness and Student Support Services. She is also a peer mentor. Her vision for SGA is to make Sauk more than just a step before a larger university for everyone. I want to go the extra mile for every event.

Student Trustee Kala Karrow-Kala's area of study is pre-med. At Sauk, Kala is involved in Phi Theta Kappa, Student Ambassadors and Student Support Services where she is a tutor as well. Her vision for SGA is to incorporate all students and help cover everyone's needs.
