Make sure you take the time to submit your pieces for this year's SVCC fine arts magazine The Works to show off your talent.
Students, faculty, and staff may submit up to 4 pieces of visual art (paintings, sculpture, photography, etc.) in Jpeg format AND up to 4 written pieces (fiction, poetry, music, etc) of up to 2000 words each in MS Word or RTF format.
Author's/artist's names should not appear on their submissions.
Submissions should be emailed to email@example.com with the submission category as the subject title.
Anne Horton Writing Award:
Students who have/will have English 101 or 103 this semester or next semester (fall '12 and spring '13) can submit 1 essay in each of the following categories:
- Narrative/descriptive essay (shows something by telling a story or describing)
- Expository (tells/explains something, ie arguments, research papers, etc).
Submissions should be:
- Formatted MS Word or RTF
- Double spaced,
- Include the student's id # at the top right, the title of the piece centered on the next line, and then the beginning of the text.
Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org with the category as the subject line.
The winner of each category will receive $50, and the honorable mention for each category will receive $25. All 4 will have their essays published in The Works.
