Sauk Valley Community College students Matt Groharing of Byron and Graham Boll of Dixon have been awarded the SVCC Business Department scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.
Groharing, a business major, carries a 3.75 GPA and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Math Club, and the Skyhawk’s basketball team. He plans to graduate from Sauk this May with an Associate in Science and transfer to Linn State Tech College to major in radiation protection. He would like to work in the nuclear energy industry. A 2011 graduate of Byron High School, Matt is the son of Dave and Kristy Groharing of Byron.
Boll, business major, carries a 3.9 GPA and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, OPIC and is a tutor for the Learning Assistance Center. He plans to graduate from Sauk this May with an Associate in Science and transfer to Moody Bible Institute to major in pastoral ministry. He would like to pursue a career as a pastor. A 2011 graduate of Dixon High School, Graham is the son of Steve and Randee Boll of Dixon.
The SVCC Business Department scholarship is one of over 100 private donors that provide opportunities to deserving Sauk students each year. These scholarships play a crucial role in helping these students pursue their educational goals.
The Sauk Foundation is a non-profit corporation that helps to broaden the educational opportunities and services that SVCC provides for its students. Each year the Foundation distributes scholarships that total more than $190,000.
