The Sauk Valley College Foundation awarded six SVCC nursing students the NCLEX Review Course Scholarship at the end of the 2012-13 academic year.
The scholarship allows recipients to better prepare themselves for the National Council (of State Boards of Nursing) Licensure Examination (NCLEX), one of the most important exams graduating ADN students need as a gateway to licensure, professional practice and employment as a registered nurse.
The recipients included:
- Shaylyn Wescott of Rock Falls
- Katelyn Wiersema of Chadwick
- Hillary Fahs of Ashton
- Karra Hague of Tampico
- Stephanie Ranken of Dixon
- Jaime Stage of Sterling
The Sauk Foundation is a non-profit corporation that helps to broaden the educational opportunities and services that SVCC provides for its students. Each year the Foundation distributes scholarships that total more than $190,000.
