Skyhawk Pride with Isaiah Box

Congratulations to Sauk alumnus, Isaiah Box

Isaiah’s career at Sauk is a stellar example of how SVCC’s student-athletes constantly strive for excellence through hard work, mental toughness, and dogged perseverance.

While Isaiah began his career at Rock Valley College, he always wanted to attend Sauk. Isaiah was preceded at Sauk by his brother and sister (Jeremiah and Lydia), who both participated in Skyhawk basketball.

"My brother and sister went to Sauk and I knew [Coach Russ Damhoff] there. That's where I first wanted to go, but I didn't because I wanted to stay with my family the first couple of years," shared Isaiah in a January, 2016 Rockford Register Star interview with Matt Trowbridge.

“Rock Valley just wasn't a good fit for me.” Isaiah quickly found a home at Sauk and established himself as a dominant player in Sauk Valley's guard-oriented system.

Isaiah recently signed with Dalton State College in Georgia to play basketball and will continue his education there in the fall with a goal to earn his degree in sports management.

Way to go Isaiah for these impressive accomplishments:

Highland Bear Christmas Tournament All-Tournament Team
Region IV Division I Player of the Week
Arrowhead All-Conference 1st Team
Region IV Division I All-Region 1st Team
Region IV Division I Basketball Tournament Tournament MVP
NJCAA Division I Basketball All-American 3rd Team
NJCAA Division I Basketball Stats Leader in the nation in steals at 4.1 per game

Go SkyHawks!
