"When I enrolled in Sauk Valley Community College's Associate of Arts program I was considered a non-traditional student because I was 36 years old. As such, I needed a little more "hand holding" and was pleasantly surprised by how supportive the faculty, staff and advisors were.
I received an excellent educational foundation that prepared me to be accepted and succeed at Northern Illinois University, where I earned both a BA and MA with distinction magna cum laude.
I taught for District 272 in Amboy and at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora. I was so impressed with the academic curriculum provided by Sauk Valley Community College that I convinced 4 of my own children to matriculated there as well. They share my respect for the college and also received an excellent foundation that allowed them to complete their education at a four year university."
