When does registration begin?
Registration for Summer, Fall and Intersession begins the first of April, Spring registration begins the first part of November.
How soon should I begin the process of getting started at SVCC?
You should start as soon as possible so that you can choose from the best selection of course offerings. Courses may become unavailable as registration progresses.
Are there any scholarships available?
Yes! Visit the Office of Student Financial Assistance in person or on our website to find a listing of available scholarships.
Do I need to apply for financial aid?
You are not required to apply for financial aid to enroll at SVCC. However, we strongly encourage you to apply by completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine your eligibility for financial assistance. Contact the Office of Financial Assistance (ext. 339) for more information.
Who should I see if I have a physical or learning disability?
You should make an appointment to meet with the Student Needs Coordinator (ext. 246), BEFORE you begin the process of registration. A meeting will be arranged to explain what services SVCC has available for you.
Can I be denied admission based on my assessment results?
You cannot fail the Assessment and you will not be rejected by Sauk Valley Community College. SVCC is open to ALL individuals interested in educational advancement. The assessment is designed only to help place you in courses appropriate for your specific ability level.
If I want to learn more about Sauk Valley Community College before I begin this process, who should I contact?
You should make an appointment to meet with a member of our Admissions or Counseling Office. Call 288.5511 ext. 297 or 208 and we will be glad to discuss options available to you at Sauk Valley Community College!
