Purpose / Notes:
The SVIC is comprised of local early intervention stakeholders. (Early Intervention
(EI) is the state-funded system of services available to children Birth-to-Three who
have developmental delays or disabilities.) The purpose of the group is to disseminate
information from the state system to the local level and to provide a forum to share
local concerns with the lead agency. The SVIC has several key Functions: The SVIC
conducts local needs assessments, identifies service gaps, and identifies local resources
to fill those gaps, The SVIC works with local service providers to develop collaborative
agreements with local school districts to conduct Child Find activities and facilitate
transitions from the Part C EI System to the community and/or the public school system,
The SVIC develops and implements strategies for Public Awareness and Child Find. Information:
Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00AM-11:00AM at Sterling
Federal Bank (lower level). Parents of children with special needs are paid a stipend
