Planning Timelines
The annual planning cycle is designed to consider activities
that cover the span of as many as three years: the previous year's
activities and data are reviewed; the current year's activities are
undertaken; and the next year's activities are planned and
budgeted. The scheduled timelines for reports and information that
flow to OPIC are crucial to maintaining the system's credibility
and assuring that all information flows in a manner that allows
appropriate information to be included in the budgeting
process.
Illustration 9: Sources of data flowing
to OPIC
Reports to OPIC are scheduled to coincide with
the budget process and allow the appropriate requests and
recommendations to be included in budgeting decisions. In addition
to the budget information, additional information comes from four
sources as depicted in Illustration 9.
* See timeline in Appendix
F for interaction between these tasks and data
collection.
