Fall 2026 Team Outlook
The 2026 Skyhawk Cross Country team has six women and two men that will compete this season. The women’s team returns two runners (Kaylee Sweikar and Presley O’Bryant) who competed at the national championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa. We have added Brenna Burlack (Rock Falls), Grace Johnson (Sterling), Ava McFalls (Faith Christian), and Emma Mussche (Bureau Valley). On the men’s side, we added two freshmen, Ziggy Coon (Rock Falls) and Adrian Gallardo (Bureau Valley). We have a great group of experienced runners and should help push the paces of the incoming runners. All of the athletes have a lot of potential and a great work ethic to make things competitive.
The 2026 season consists of six meets, including the 23rd Annual Skyhawk Invitational, to be held at Sauk on October 3. Last season, both teams had runners who qualified for the national championships. This year, we hope to qualify again for the National Meet. It will be an exciting season as we train, improve, and set high goals for the 2026 cross country season.
