The Sauk Valley Track and Field teams begin their 8th season since returning to the college. Sauk Valley Women returns great leaders from last year’s squad in Presley O’Bryant and Kaylee Sweikar in the distance events, Taah Liberty in the sprints, and Ashlyn Rinaldi in the jumps. We also added a large number of freshmen to the squad this year. Newcomers include Addison Ness in the multi-events, Ryleigh Eriks in the pole vault; Claire McMahan and Brooklyn Thoms in the sprints; Emma Rumley in the hurdles, Noelle Girton and Kayla Hackbarth in the throws; and Brenna Burlack, Grace Johnson, Ava McFalls, and Emma Mussche in the distances.
Head Coach Nick Hartz gives his thoughts on the team. "The team has a lot of excitement about it this year, and the mix of returning athletes and freshmen have given us good reason to be excited. I know all of the coaches are enthusiastic with the growth and progress we have seen so far, and it will be great to get that first glimpse of what they can accomplish this season."
