ExemptFUNCTION OF THE JOB:
The ECE Grant Support Specialist will execute duties of the ECACE grant by establishing visits with community and industry partners as part of the effort to increase enrollment in Early Childhood Education. They will actively plan, organize, and lead recruitment activities throughout the district with a focus on marketing, recruitment, and sharing of resources. This is a grant-funded, temporary position expiring in the summer of 2024.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Visit regional childcare centers to share marketing information about ECACE scholarships and opportunities.
- Visit local high schools to share ECE recruiting information with graduates.
- Assist the Sauk ECE Mentor with internal and external event planning.
- Assist with filling out and logging student intake forms.
- Connect students with the ECACE mentor and campus resources.
- Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must understand and support the mission of the community college.
- Must have strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by phone and email on a daily basis.
- Must be able to operate basic office equipment proficiently.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must have the ability to work with Microsoft Office products.
PERSONAL INTERACTION:
Frequent contact is made with all levels of College personnel, students, and outside organizations in relation to routine departmental services and duties in providing appropriate assistance and information as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred. Excellent communication skills and service orientation required. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Illinois early childhood education programs and Gateway credentials.

TORT LIABILITY STATEMENT:
Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems.
