Function of the Job
Assist the Information Center staff with general office processes while maintaining confidentiality of all student records.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operation of the Avaya Softconsole switchboard- including the answering of all the incoming calls
- Transfer calls to the appropriate person or department
- Record accurate messages
- Maintaining contact with the night administrator on duty.
- Refund money if vending machine is not working properly.
- Assist the public in answering questions in a courteous, helpful manner.
- Take reservations for Theater functions. Ability to get along with co-workers and follow directions.
- Contact security if needed.
- Be able to handle emergency calls
- Cut out of newspaper obituaries of former students found in newspapers.
- Various jobs assigned – recording lost & found, recording homework dropped off to instructors by students, folding and stuffing mailings, etc.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by Building & Grounds Office staff.
Essential Functions
- MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK NIGHTS
- Must be able to type at least 45 words per minute, pay careful attention to detail, Word and PowerPoint 2010 helpful but not necessary.
- Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters
- Must be able to communicate by telephone on a daily basis.
- Must be able to use computers.
- Must have good reading and English skills- needed for reading and clipping newspapers.
- Must be able to operate basic office equipment.
- Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors.
Personal Interaction
Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.

Requirements
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses.
The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Students participating in the Federal Work Study Program are paid minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. The student is not guaranteed a set number of hours per week.
In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program the student must:
- be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College (half-time is 6cr for fall/spring and 3cr for summer),
- be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program,
- be in good academic standing; and
- must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Tort Liability Statement:
Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems. May serve as a member of a committee that supports the health, safety and/or legal rights of visitors, students and staff.
