Function of the Job

Assist Learning Resource Center staff with general processes and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Issues library cards
  2. Processes loans, renewals, and returns
  3. Monitors interlibrary loan callslip requests
  4. Processes items for interlibrary loan
  5. Shelves materials in appropriate areas
  6. Searches catalogs/files to determine if material is in collection or in process
  7. Checks shipment invoices to ensure all items are present
  8. Checks condition of new material
  9. Processes new material for use
  10. Provides usage and directional information to LRC users
  11. Assists users with finding online resources
  12. Assists users in operation of LRC equipment
  13. Other duties as reasonably assigned by Learning Resource Center staff.

Essential Functions

  1. Must be able to provide oral and written responses to students’ questions and assist faculty given general guidance.
  2. Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters
  3. Must be able to use computers.
  4. Must be able to use general office equipment

Personal Interaction

Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.

Requirements

Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Students participating in the Federal Work Study Program are paid minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. The student is not guaranteed a set number of hours per week.

Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems.
