Function of the Job
Assist the Theater Department with pre- and post production tasks for the fall and spring shows. Position is available for generally 6-7 weeks each semester. In Fall this runs October through November and in Spring it runs from the middle of March through May.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist set and lighting designers to build the set, focus the lights and work on other pre- and post production tasks.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by Theater staff.
Essential Functions
- Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters
- Must be able to safely use power tools
- May require heavy lifting
- Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors.
Personal Interaction
Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.
Supervision Exercised
None.
Requirements
Students will be required to work during the week and on some Saturdays and Sundays.
Experience in construction, especially set building, is preferred.
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. Students participating in the Federal Work Study Program are paid minimum wage and can work up to 20 hours per week. The student is not guaranteed a set number of hours per week.
In order to qualify for the Federal Work Study Program the student must:
- be enrolled half-time (or greater) at the College (half-time is 6cr for fall/spring and 3cr for summer),
- be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program,
- be in good academic standing; and
- must have eligibility (financial need) as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Tort Liability Statement:
Coordinates the College Risk Management Program in a capacity appropriate to this position.
