Function of the Job
Assist the Financial Assistance and Veterans Services staff with general office processes while maintaining confidentiality of all student records.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General office duties including answering the telephone and taking accurate concise messages.
- Assist student veterans with applications for federal and state benefits
- Data Entry / Typing
- Scan documents into Veteran files
- Check scanned documents for destruction
- Schedule appointments and entering into online appointment program
- Assist Veterans with questions, completion of their cover sheet
- Assist students with general questions and give accurate information
- Assist in auditing Veteran files
- Assist with mailings
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by Financial Assistance & Veterans Services staff.
Essential Functions
- Must display professionalism and confidentiality in all matters
- Must be able to communicate by telephone on a daily basis.
- Must be able to use computers.
- Must be able to operate basic office equipment.
- Must be able to provide and understand verbal/visual orders from supervisors.
Personal Interaction
Daily contact with College personnel, faculty, students, and the general public in the routine performance of duties and departmental services.

Requirements
PLEASE NOTE: This position is offered through the VA Work-Study Allowance. In order to qualify for the VA work-study allowance the student must be training on a full-time or ¾ time basis under one of the following programs:
- Post-9/11 GI Bill--(38 U.S.C. Chapter 33) (Veterans and transfer-of-entitlement recipients)
- Montgomery GI Bill--Active Duty (38 U.S.C. Chapter 30) ~REAP Participants
- Montgomery GI Bill--Selected Reserve (10 U.S.C. Chapter 1606)
- Post-Vietnam Era Veterans' Educational Assistance Program (38 U.S.C. Chapter 32)
- Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (38 U.S.C. Chapter 35)
- Eligible dependents under 38 U.S.C. Chapter 35 may use work study only while training in a State
- National Call to Service Participants
- Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Program -- (38 U.S.C. Chapter 31)
