Plews and Edelmann (Engineering Intern)

Position Duration
This is a temporary engineering position expected to begin as soon as possible, and last approximately 6 months, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance.  Work schedule:  8:00 AM – 4:30 AM Monday through Friday. 

Pay Range
The pay for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on skills and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
•       Set up testing equipment for power steering pumps/racks/gears/hose/coolers, run predefined tests, record data into test report.
•       Update AutoCad drawings
•       Generally, support engineering related tasks.
•       Must be able to use Excel, Word, Access, and preferably AutoCad.
•       A basic understanding of Scientific method.

Qualifications
Education:
- Enrolled in an Engineering Technology or related technical program with demonstrated completion of foundational coursework (minimum first year).
Experience:
- Experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing environment is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•       Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
•       Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
•       Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•       Experience with AutoCAD software preferred.
•       Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
•       Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
•       High attention to detail and organizational skills.
•       Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility.
Ability to lift up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and testing devices.

Work Environment
Combination of office, manufacturing and distribution floor environment.
Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures in production areas.
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
