In an effort to address this the College now has a Director of Regional Economic Development and is host to one of the more than 40 Small Business Development Center’s across Illinois.
Sauk Valley Community College is an advocate for all regional development projects and communities. In fact, the College even has a board policy supporting development initiatives. Our team works with the following stakeholders across Northwest Illinois to create more opportunities for local businesses.

In the Table above, we show the concentration of employment in each industry for each
region of Illinois. The numbers reflect the ratio of the share of employment in that
industry in the region to the share of employment in that industry to the nation.
For example, a “1” means that the region has the same share of employment in that
industry as the nation, while a “2” means the region has twice as much employment
share in that industry as the nation.
