The American Red Cross of Northwest Illinois is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement; the four areas of service: Disaster Services, Health & Safety services (CPR, FA & Water Safety), Armed Forces Emergency Services (Sending messages & facilitating emergency loans), and International Services (tracing). Our mission is to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. All items marked as related to immediate needs due to disasters Education is for disaster preparedness & prevention. Services: Disaster Services - Immediate Emergency Assistance due to a disaster includes food, clothing, shelter; Disaster Education and training; AFES - Armed Forces Emergency Services - Emergency Communications; Blood Mobiles - collecting blood supply; Health & Safety Courses - First Aid; Adult, Infant, Child CPR; and water safety classes;
