Purpose:

IDES provides unemployment insurance (UI), employment services and guidance to workers, job seekers, and employers through a statewide network of IDES offices and Illinois workNet centers. The agency combines federally-funded job training programs in Illinois into a "workforce development" system where individuals can find a job or train for a new career.

Remarks:

Regular IDES business hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, except for state holidays. Visit a local IDES office nearest you, get a printer-friendly list of Employment Security Offices & WorkNet Centers, a map of IDES Regions and Offices, or find a TTY number. Sterling IDES Office serves the Counties of Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle & Whiteside with walk-in traffic from Bureau, Henry & Stephenson. Ottawa IDES Office serves the counties of Bureau, LaSalle & Putnam with walk-in traffic from Dekalb, Grundy, Kendall and Marshall. Rockford IDES office serves the counties of Boone, Stephenson & Winnebago with walk-in traffic from Dekalb & Ogle.
