- Purpose:
- The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs is a state agency created for the purpose of assisting veterans, servicemen, their dependents and survivors in obtaining any benefits or advantages due to such person under the law of the United States, the State of Illinois, or any other state or governmental agency by reason of the veteran's military service.

Services: Liaison between local veterans, dependents, and survivors, and the Veteran's Administration: Processes claims, Makes referrals, Gives information, Assists with preparation of forms and filing applications, Assists with obtaining benefits due, Assist veterans and their dependents in obtaining any State or Federal benefit in which they may be entitled to including; pensions, compensation, education, home loans, bonus' veterans homes, VA hospital care, and G.I. insurance. Eligibility: Veteran, service personnel, dependent or survivors.
