Purpose:
The Rochelle Christian Food Pantry wants to provide food to the less fortunate at a time of crisis.
Remarks:
Food baskets are delivered on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM every week. Only one food basket per household a month. Recipient of the food basket must be a resident of the Rochelle High School District. When arriving to pick up a food basket, be sure to have a photo ID and proof of residence. Recipients must meet the state income guidelines to receive service. A family of 1 must make less than $1,106; a family of 2 must make less than $1,483; a family of 3 must make less than $1,860; and a family of 4 must make less than $2,237. If there are more than four in a household, contact the food pantry for the requirements. The Rochelle Christian Food Pantry is sponsored by approximately 14 churches. The Food Pantry gives away a generous amounts of bread from the bakery, cereal, tuna, soup and crackers, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, meat products, and other nonperishable food, according to the number of members in a household. Food baskets also include fruits and vegetables from Del Monte, Sara Lee products, and frozen items from TLC. Personal products, such as soap, shampoo, and other toiletries, and cleaning supplies are sometimes available. The Food Pantry also has Pick-and-Choose on some items such as sauerkraut and other canned goods.
