Student Recruiting and Impact Specialist

Function of the Job

Provide support for student recruiting and Impact Program initiatives by assisting prospective and current students, families, school partners, and community organizations. Responsibilities include outreach, recruitment support, student communication, data tracking, document management, and clerical and administrative support related to Impact Program requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide information by telephone, correspondence, email, in person, one-on-one, or in group settings regarding the Impact Program and student recruiting.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Impact students, families, high school partners, and volunteer partners regarding program expectations, deadlines, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain an outreach and marketing plan and be responsible for engaging students, parents, and school administrators about the various components of the Impact Program.
  • Assist with Impact Program recruiting efforts (may require evening or occasional weekend hours).
  • Support the coordination, tracking, and verification of Impact Program requirements, including volunteer hours, student documentation, and eligibility milestones.
  • Maintain accurate student records and data in college systems (e.g., Banner, CRM platforms, internal databases, and web applications).
  • Assist with processing and reviewing Impact volunteer partner applications, forms, and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to student and family inquiries and route complex issues to appropriate staff or departments as needed.
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and implementation of Impact events, recruiting events, and student-facing programs.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, reports, and communications related to recruiting and Impact Program operations.
  • Support social media, marketing, and outreach efforts for recruiting and Impact initiatives as directed.
  • Safeguard student information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives related to recruiting and the Impact Program.
  • Assume all other reasonable and professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Must understand and support the mission of the community college.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to provide and understand verbal, written, and electronic instructions and presentations.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate computers and standard office software.
  • Must be able to operate basic office equipment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Some evening and occasional weekend hours are required.

Personal Interaction

Frequent contact with College personnel, faculty, students, parents, high school partners, community organizations, and the general public in the routine performance of duties.

Supervision Exercised

Functional supervision may be exercised over designated College student employees.

Requirements

Associate’s degree and two years of office experience is required or equivalent education and experience is required. The candidate must possess strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Experience with social media, student information systems (Banner), CRM platforms, or similar databases preferred.
