Function of the Job
Serves as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Planning Officer of the College. Is responsible for supervision and administration of activities related to information technology, institutional research and planning, emergency preparedness planning, federal and state reporting, and faculty and staff professional development. Develops systems to communicate information related to above responsibilities to college employees, students, community members, accrediting agencies, state boards, and federal agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the Chief Information Research Officer, Chief Data Privacy Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer for the College.

Centralize the strategic use, governance, security, and infrastructure of institutional data.

Oversee the College's research function and collaborating with departments to ensure full integration of research activities.

Collect and analyzing institutional data and serving as a campus data steward to support effective decision-making and policy recommendations.

Serve as the Chief Institutional Planning Officer coordinating institutional strategic and operational planning as it relates to the colleges mission.

Coordinate the College’s program review process in accordance with ICCB requirements.

Chair the Institutional Research Board and oversee FOIA requests.

Chair the Institutional Effectiveness Committee.

Assist the faculty assessment coordinators in implementing and maintaining the College’s assessment process.

Serve as the College’s liaison officer for HLC accreditation and ICCB recognition.

Handle significant compliance functions, including serving as the institution's Clery Coordinator and preparing the Annual Security Report.

Lead institutional emergency management planning efforts, overseeing the planning section of the emergency report, and maintaining the Emergency Operations Plan.

Fulfill the role of Title IX Coordinator (responsible for coordinating institutional compliance related to Title IX and other related discrimination laws) by developing and delivering culturally responsive educational programs for students, faculty, and staff including disseminating educational materials and conducting outreach and training.

Supervision and administration of college-wide computing, information services, telecommunications, instructional technology, and cybersecurity.

Oversee all technology operations, including purchasing, installation, maintenance, and security of administrative and academic technologies, such as computers, printers, copiers, and communication.

Stay updated on IT trends and emerging technologies.

Develop and apply IT best practices across the institution.

Ensure IT strategies and processes support institutional goals.

Oversee threat and vulnerability assessments and ensure that the College has sufficient controls and mitigations to reduce risk. (7%*)

Coordinate the College’s committee system with the CAO.

Assist in finding and obtaining appropriate grants that support the college and its programs and serve as a grant writer when necessary.

Serve as a member of the administrative team, including service on the President’s Cabinet and Leadership Council.

Represent the College in local, state, and regional organizations and maintain contacts with outside agencies as appropriate.

Prepare annual budget requests; manage and maintain the budgets for supervised areas.

Develop annual goals and objectives for supervised areas.

Serve as night administrator on a rotating basis. (3%*)

Personal Interaction
Frequent contact is made with all levels of College personnel, students, the general public, and outside organizations in relation to routine departmental services and duties and in providing appropriate assistance and information as requested.
Supervision Exercised
Administrative and functional supervision is exercised over the Information and Planning department.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field with five to seven years of experience in Information Technology required. Certificated Information Privacy Professional certification is required or the ability to obtain certification within one year.

This includes, but is not limited to, monitoring conditions, events and circumstances present through daily College operations, and communicating observations to the appropriate supervisor or taking necessary actions to correct, prevent or limit safety problems.
