Dr. Jakobsen was a practicing licensed psychologist before accepting a position at Sauk as a full-time professor of psychology in 2011. Since accepting the full-time position, Dr. Jakobsen has been very active on campus by being advisor for student organizations and providing leadership to the Social Sciences department. In 2016, she was awarded the SVCC Outstanding Full-time Faculty Award.
