Go Skyhawks! - Fear the Feathers

Women's Basketball Team Outlook

The 2018-2019 Women’s Basketball team is looking to continue the success from the previous seasons.

The Skyhawks are led by three returners from the 2017-18 team. With Isabelle Kimpel’s ability to finish at the rim and play big defensively in the paint, she will be a force to reckon with. Also returning is Bre Scheidegger who has a strong 3-point shot that we look to use every game. Also bringing experience is Shian Galbreath. She will be one we look towards to bring the ball up the court. With her ability to get to the rim, along with seeing the court well, she is a great player to control the tempo of the game. We are looking to rely on these three ladies as leaders on and off the court! The Skyhawks bring in seven new freshmen. Delaney Hindricks and Payton Murray, both from Newman will take on big roles for the Skyhawks. Hindricks with her ball handling and quickness on defense, and Murray will be more of an outside threat. Aubree Schmitt, a graduate of the University of Iowa will be lacing up again. With her ability to play a post or guard position, as well as her court sense, she will be great to have on the court. Taylor Hoefler of Rock Falls will be another local talent for the Skyhawks. Her quickness and speed will give us the boost we need to run the floor. Taylor Vance of Beloit, Illinois, is another strong guard for the Skyhawks as well. Her drive and passion for the game will be a great asset to the team as well as her speed. Shauni Warner of Faith Christian brings height and skill to the paint. The Skyhawks will heavily be looking to her for rebounding and blocks. Rounding up the Skyhawks is Karlee Doege from Amboy, Illinois. She a very versatile player who can play a guard or post. Her hard work and passion show in her abilities on the court. All seven of these freshmen have the potential to make a difference and have a big impact on this team. The Skyhawks, although young, will be a strong team to come up against. As long as they stay focused and play as a team, they have the talent to make a run at the conference title!
