Go Skyhawks! - Fear the Feathers

Women's Basketball Team Outlook

The 2017-2018 Women's Basketball team is looking to continue the success from the previous seasons. It will be a challenging one but one that can be done. We are a young team but this group shows dedication and heart on and off the court.

The skyhawks will be lead by two returners from the 2016-2017 team. Kennedy Kuykendall is coming back from a strong season last year. With her ability to shoot from behind the arch and drive to the basket, she will definitely be a force to be reckon with. Also returning is Jaida Carson. We will be looking to Jaida to step up in the point guard position. With her ability to get to the rim, along with seeing the court well, she will be a great player to have control the tempo of the game. We are looking to rely on these two ladies as leaders on and off the court!
The Skyhawks will be bringing in five new freshman. Isabelle Shiaras and Breanna Scheidegger, both of Dixon will be expected to take on big roles for us this year. Shiaras will make a big impact in the paint, while Scheidegger will be more of an outside threat. They both have the ability and potential to be really active and strong players. Cheyenne Harrington of Sterling will be another local talent for the Skyhawks. Her quickness and speed will give us the boost that we'll need to run the floor. Shain Galbreath of Beloit, Illinois, can be another strong guard for us if she continues to work hard and stay positive! Rounding up the Skyhawks is Paige Peterson of Polo, Illinois. She is a versatile player, that can play a guard or post. Her hard work and passion show in her abilities on the court. All five of these freshman have the potential to make a difference and have a big impact on this team.
The Skyhawks, although young, will be a strong team to come up against.  As long as we stay focused on our goals and play as a team, we have the talent for a successful year, making a run at the conference title!
It should be a great season for the Lady Skyhawks!
