2016 Women's Tennis Team Outlook

Our women’s tennis team has new and returning faces this year ready for competition and success.
The Skyhawk’s will have four returning players all from the top six spots of last season. Allison Shank, Macee Sullivan, and Chantel Ordean all from Sterling all played both singles and doubles for the Skyhawk’s last season and did an excellent job. Sidney Lippens from Sterling played doubles only and did an excellent job. They have gained the experience and skills to help them be competitive this year.
The two new players joining this year are Nadia Trujillo from Sterling who’s sisters Tessa and Gabi both played for the Skyhawk’s team. Also Emily Berogan from sterling who’s sister Ashlyn also played for the Skyhawk’s. Tessa, Gabi and Ashlyn were on the 2014-15 team that placed 2nd at Regionals and earned a trip to the National Tournament in Tucson in May of 2015. Nadia and Emily are on the Sauk Softball team also and are working hard to be competitive for the Sauk tennis team.
The Region IV Division 1 competition is tough. However, these women have a lot of talent, drive and skill to be successful. Our goal for the team will to place in the top three teams at regionals. Hard work and dedication will help these players try to reach this goal.
