2016-17 Golf Team Outlook

This year the Skyhawks are starting fresh with a full team of incoming freshman.   The Skyhawks are coming off the first Conference Championship in almost 20 years and need to have some of the young players step up.

Leading the freshman group coming in is Cooper Kilberg from Rock Falls.   “We are looking for Cooper to lead this young group and try to maintain the excellence that was started with our graduating class” stated Coach Johnson.

The Skyhawks are going to have to fill some big shoes losing their All American, Jared Hippen, along with 3 other All-Conference players.   “I cannot expect to have another Jarred Hippen every single year, he was one of those players that do not come along to often” Johnson said.   Hippen was a back to back All American for Sauk Valley and finished top ten and top 20 back to back years at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.  “We just hope that we have some of our young talent step up to the challenge and compete at a high level” Johnson stated.  Although this could be looked at as a definite rebuilding year for the Skyhawks they do have some talent that may rise up and surprise some people. Golf Team 2014
